Operation Advanced MAN B&W ME – C Electronic Engine Course Specs
The aim of the course is to introduce new knowledge and skills on how to operate an electronic 2-stroke ME-C Engine. To understand the safety operation of ME Engine and control systems.
This training course is aimed for shipboard Operational and Management Level Engine Officers, ETO, technical managers, who will be engaged in the O&M of the new electronic engine two-stroke diesel engines, ME-C Tier I and Tier II.
The participants, (either a Marine, Mechanical or Electrical engineer), should have a good knowledge of diesel engine principles together with sufficient operational experience of the diesel engines in different applications.
The objective of the training course
At the end of the training the trainees should be able to:
· Differentiate a conventional 2-stroke engine with an electronic control 2-stroke engine;
· Understand the design and function of each main component;
· Safe operation of ME Engine in mechanical and electrical aspects
· Understand the different bus system, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagrams;
· Basic trouble shooting and restoration of electronic control system
· Correctly operate the MOP, MPC through practical hands-on exercises using developed modules/ interactive simulations,
· Application of “best practices” of ME Engine Control System
· Diagnose common operational faults and do some troubleshooting and maintenance.
