Grid & Electric Propulsion Component Course Specification, (3 Days)

This training course is aimed for marine engineers, electrical officers and technical staff who are involved directly or indirectly in operation and supervision of the Diesel Electric Propulsion plant.

Applicants should demonstrate a good theoretical knowledge of four-stroke medium-speed

diesel engines and have certain operational experience on similar 4-stroke conventional or electronic engines.

Objective of the Training Course

Participants will able to learn the different electrical structure of the plant, and deepen their

knowledge on diesel electric propulsion components and functionality of all electric propulsion systems.

Particular focus is put on the safe and efficient operation of a diesel electric propulsion control system, by understanding the design and function of each main components, to include evaluation, fault-analysis, and necessary maintenance.

Theoretical lectures are enriched with the use of power points, videos and sharing of practical experience of the ETO.

Course contents can be customized according to the actual type of equipment onboard.
